The Overlook Bay Wiki is an encyclopedia on Fandom that houses the most accurate information regarding Overlook Bay, which is a game on Roblox developed by Wonder Works Studio. Due to the wiki being open to all users for editing, certain conflicts in regards to editing are inevitable. To prevent or solve such conflicts, the Overlook Bay Wiki has a Content Policy as well as a Manual of Style that regulates and informs users of our expectations in regards to them editing an article.
Violating the Manual of Style is not punishable, due to it only being a guidelines for editors. However, severe policies listed below, such as vandalism, will certainly lead to disciplinary actions.
- Vandalize articles, add false and extremely libelous information, accusations, concepts, and theories.
- Vandalism is an act where a user intentionally defaces the content of an article.
- Libelous information and accusations comprise of public call-outs, points added to publicly shame someone, etc.
- Information about an item's "worth", "demand", or "value" may not be added to wiki articles. Such information is not factual and varies based on users' perspective.
- Add extremely private information, whether it be of themselves or another user.
- Users generally gain knowledge of this information through data leaks or other illegal means. At the Overlook Bay Wiki, privacy is of the utmost concern. (see: Privacy Policy)
- Carry out edit wars or other significant disagreements on an article.
- Edit wars should be resolved either by contacting the other party through their message wall or by consulting an administrator.
- Edit or badge farm.
- Edit or badge farming is the intentional act of spam-editing articles to gain badges or edits through illicit means.
- Follow the Manual of Style, which gives an in-depth explanation of how articles should be formatted and written.
- Users will not get punished for not abiding by the Manual of Style, as it is just a guideline.
- Create articles related to unreleased content only when it abides by the Unreleased Asset Notability Policy.
Unreleased Asset Notability
Before an update, Wonder Works Studio generally tease one or more of their upcoming items via their social media platforms. Unfortunately, this information usually gets misinterpreted with rumors and often leads to confusion.
To prevent any confusion, all editors a part of the Overlook Bay Wiki should follow the Unreleased Asset Notability Policy (or UANP, for short) while creating articles for unreleased content.
