The Midnight Glow Bug is a unique pet in Overlook Bay 2, which was officially announced by Wonder Works Studio in one of their tweets.[1] It was formerly referred to as the 'Ladybug', then the 'Beetle', and finally the 'Midnight Glow Bug' upon release; it was also termed as 'the most limited pet in Overlook Bay history' by Wonder Works Studio.[2]
Players that purchase and own the Midnight Glow Bug Back Buddy UGC for 
5,000 or through a reseller were scheduled to receive the pet after the game entered its free-release stage, that is, when the beta stage of the game ended, on October 12, 2023. However, the pet's release was delayed until December 7, 2023. Although it was formerly advertised as a '1 in 100' pet,[2] this statement was not accurate; every user that owns the UGC can claim the Midnight Glow Bug from the Pet Plaza once every month. This implies that if each user that owns the UGC was to claim their pet timely, there would be 100 new Midnight Glow Bugs in-game each month, with their total number not being regulated.
