Overlook Bay 2 refers to the sequel to Overlook Bay, its predecessor that released almost three years prior. Previously, it was scheduled to be released in August 2023 and paid access was confirmed to cost 
50.[1] This change to the pricing of the base game from 25 to 50 had come as an unprecedented change, as it had been announced by Wonder Works Studio prior in May 2023 that the beta release would cost 25.[2] This experience will receive an update every Thursday.[3] The experience was officially released on September 21, 2023 under paid access for 25 in its beta stage.

The game released in a beta state on September 21, 2023, and is scheduled to launch under free access in October, 2023.(citation needed) Players that purchased access to the beta version of the game for 25 received an exclusive pet, the Beta Frog, which was teased by Wonder Works Studio on July 28, 2023.[4]
During its beta release, the game introduced four pet pods, the Jade Pet Pod, Ruby Pet Pod, Pearl Pet Pod, Twilight Pet Pod, and the Fortune Pet Pod, of which the Fortune Pet Pod cost 295 while the others cost 
Gems. Alongside the pods, 26 pets were added to the game including the Beta Frog, out of which three pets (Pet 1, Pet 2, Pet 3) could only be obtained out of the Twilight Pet Pod. The beta-exclusive Beta Frog pet could, additionally, be purchased for 249 each from the shop, however, it had a limited quantity and only 5,000 Beta Frogs were available for purchase via this method.

Overlook Bay 2 takes on from where its predecessor, Overlook Bay left and introduces widely-awaited gameplay elements to the core game, such as farming and jobs.

Pets are a gameplay element of Overlook Bay 2 that comprise companions which players can take care of by completing various tasks. The game will include an exclusive pet for players that purchase access to beta in the experience, similar to the Corgi being a beta-exclusive pet in the original Overlook Bay. Furthermore, the game will also comprise a Wishing Well pet as well as an exclusive Robux-only pet that players would only be able to obtain during the beta.[5]

- The game will introduce new user interface elements made specifically for this experience. Wonder Works Studio also teased a 'Test Logo' which the game may potentially use as its official logo upon release.[6]
