Legacy article
XP is a legacy article and documents information related to the original Overlook Bay.
XP in Overlook Bay refers to the short form of experience points, which is widely used. Experience points allow players to level up in certain aspects of the game. There are four types of experience points in the game:
- Player XP: The type of experience points that allow players to gain player levels, which help them get special titles. Player XP can be earned by playing the game, and participating in jobs and activities.
- Pet XP: This is the type of experience points that pets receive when players take care of them by carrying out tasks. These experience points help pets level up.
- Fishing XP: When players catch certain types of fish, they gain fishing XP. These experience points allow players to level up in fishing and subsequently obtain prizes from the Fishing Pass.
- Mining XP: When players drill or mine crystals, they gain mining XP. These experience points allow players to level up in mining and subsequently obtain prizes from the Mining Pass.
Multiplier[]
By default, a player's XP multiplier is set to 1x, which means that the player does not receive any additional XP. Players can increase their Luck multiplier in the following ways:
- A player can equip the Mermaid pet to double (2x) their XP multiplier. A Shiny Mermaid triples (3x) the player's XP multiplier, while a Rainbow Shiny Mermaid quadruples (4x) the player's XP multiplier.
- Players can also equip special tools while carrying out certain activities to earn additional XP.
- Equipping a special fishing rod would grant the player an XP multiplier which would contribute towards their Fishing XP.
- Equipping a special pickaxe or drill would grant the player an XP multiplier which would contribute towards their Mining XP.
- Players that own the x2 Pet Leveling gamepass gain double the amount of XP a standard player would upon completing a task for their pet.
