This article is about pets in Overlook Bay. For pets in Overlook RP Update, see: Pets. For other uses, see: Pet (disambiguation)
Pets are an important gameplay element in Overlook Bay that players can obtain by opening pet pods, purchasing them in exchange for currencies such as Gems and
Robux, or by carrying out certain tasks. Pets possess an exclusive section in a player's inventory, notably known as the "Pets" section of one's inventory.

Similar to all other items present in Overlook Bay, pets are classified under 8 different rarities:
- Common
- Uncommon
- Rare
- Ultra-Rare
- Legendary
- Godly
- Mythic
- Special
Acquiring Pets[]
Pets can generally be acquired via three ways. These ways, however, do not account for special acquisition ways introduced during events.
- Pet Pods: Pet Pods are the most common way through which players can get pets in Overlook Bay. Players get different pets on the basis of the pet pods they open. Event-exclusive pet pods grant players pets that are exclusive to their respective events, while pet pods that will always remain in-game, i.e., the Copper Pet Pod, Ruby Pet Pod, and the Emerald Pet Pod grant players normal pets.
Robux: A specific set of pets can or could have been purchased in exchange for
Robux either directly or indirectly. Such pets were either sold as developer products or as parts of a gamepass.
- Wishing Well: Players have a 0.5% chance of getting a godly pet from the Wishing Well upon making a wish. The Wishing Well's godly pet regularly gets changed.
Pet Leveling[]
Players can take care of their pets by attending to their needs via completing specific tasks that are automatically assigned to pets over a brief period of time. There are three stages of progression that a pet can go through in Overlook Bay, which have been termed as "Normal", "Shiny", and "Rainbow Shiny". Each of these stages are sub-divided into 5 levels that players must progress through in order to make a pet eligible for the next stage. A pet's level is provided in a UI that hovers above a pet's head while it is equipped.
In order to progress on to the Shiny stage, players need to combine two normal-staged pets at the max level, 5, and in order to progress on to the Rainbow Shiny stage, players need to combine two max-aged shiny pets at the Pet Store using a Shiny Potion. Once a pet reaches its Rainbow Shiny stage, it cannot level up any further.
The following table lists the exact amount of XP pets require in order to get through a certain level:

Fusion of Pets[]
Shiny Pets[]
Shiny Pets in Overlook Bay are essentially a special division of pets that are created by combining or fusing two max-aged normal pets using the Shiny Machine present inside the Pet Store, with the help of a Shiny Potion. These pets have a special "S" symbol next to them in a player's inventory and emit particles that are of the same color and may have differing shapes. Shiny pets' nametag, or the UI present above their head also changes to yellow in color.
Rainbow Shiny Pets[]
Rainbow Shiny Pets are formed when a player combines two of their max-aged shiny pets using the Shiny Machine. These pets have a special "R" symbol next to them in a player's inventory and emit multi-shaped particles that are differently colored. Rainbow shiny pets' nametag, or the UI present above their head cycles through multiple colors.
List of Pets[]
For a combined list of all pets in Overlook Bay, see: Pets/List
The main list of pets is divided into 8 sections:
- Overlook Bay Pets: Overlook Bay Pets refer to pets that became unobtainable post the Overlook RP Update, except through the means of trading and/or gifting. These pets were present in the original state of Overlook Bay, before the game was relaunched as 'Overlook RP' with all its gameplay elements revamped and changed. If a player owned these pets in their inventory prior to the update, they retained these pets even after the update and could trade or gift them off to other players. For pets in this category that were obtainable out of pet pods, if a player owned any pet's dedicated pet pod even post-update, they could have opened it to receive that particular pet. This list also includes the Corgi and Galactic Lion, as well as Ocean Pets and Dev Pals.
- Overlook RP Pets: Overlook RP Pets refer to pets that were added to Overlook Bay on or after December 17, 2021, that is, either as a part of or after the Overlook RP Update.
- Event: Pets that were added to Overlook Bay exclusively for events.
- Wishing Well: Pets that can or could have been obtained by making a wish at the Wishing Well.
- Robux: Pets that can or could have been purchased in exchange for
Robux.
- Unreleased: Pets that are currently unreleased, but their addition has been confirmed via notable sources.
- Removed: Pets that have been completely removed from the game and can neither be obtained via their original sources, nor through trading or gifting. They are classified under 'Removed Content'.
