The Halloween Event (2020) started on October 9, 2020, and was the first major event that took place in Overlook Bay. The event officially concluded on November 2, 2020.
This event introduced two new, temporary currencies known as Souls and
Candy, which could be obtained by completing various different tasks around the large town of Overlook Bay. The event also introduced mining to the game, which is a gameplay feature present in-game to-date. Initially, players could have exchanged the crystals they obtained through mining for
Souls.
Currencies[]
Souls[]

The signboard present outside a player's house.
Souls was the main currency used during the Halloween Event (2020).
Souls could have been obtained through participating in several different activities that were introduced during the event, completing Halloween quests, as well as in exchange for
Robux.
Players could have also exchanged 1,000 for
350 in order to obtain extra
Souls. Players could have done this as many times as they wanted to. To do this, they could interact with a signboard present right in front of their house during the Halloween Event (2020).
Souls could have been utilized during the Halloween Event to purchase special collectible items, pets, and Halloween Pet Pods. They could have also been donated to Giselle The Good Witch, an NPC present at the Potion Brew location.
Candy[]

Candy was another currency which was introduced during the Halloween Event. Unlike
Souls, not much could be done using this currency. There was only one method by which players could obtain
Candy in Overlook Bay during the Halloween Event, and that was through performing the Trick-or-Treating activity.
Candy could not be bought for
Robux, unlike
Souls and had to be earned.
Players could exchange 1,000 for
350.
Candy could have also been fed to the Sweet Tooth present outside a player's house. Players had to deposit a total of
1,500 to the pedestal outside their house, in any denominations, to obtain this pet. Players could have obtained this pet several times.
Gems[]
Gems is the main currency of Overlook Bay, and was utilized during the Halloween Event as well. Mining was introduced to Overlook Bay during this, and players could have used
Gems to purchase pickaxes from Cathy Crystal, an NPC present in The Crystal Cavity. Crystals mined during the Halloween Event could have been exchanged for
Souls. After the event had resided, mining was not removed and thus became a permanenet addition to the game. Crystals started to yield
Gems instead of
Souls upon exchanging them after the event had ended.
Activities[]
To earn Souls during the Halloween Event, players could have participated in several activities across the city of Overlook Bay. These activities included ghoul busting and mining crystals in the Crazed Caverns. Special collectible items that would stay in a player's inventory even after the event was over were introduced to the game during the Halloween Event. The first ever collectibles to be added to Overlook Bay were the Pails and Cannons.
Pails could have been used for going Trick-or-Treating while cannons could have been used to bust ghouls during the Halloween Event.
Busting Ghouls[]
Ghoul Hunting (also referred to as "Ghoul Busting") was a unique way through which players could obtain Souls during the Halloween Event. Ghouls would randomly spawn in the map of Overlook Bay at random locations, and had a specific rarity assigned to each one of them. The rarer the ghoul, the more
Souls the player would obtain upon busting it.
To capture or hunt a ghoul, players had to equip their cannon, walk up to the ghoul, and interact with the ghoul by holding down the LMB (Left Mouse Button) on PC or by touching the ghoul for mobile devices.
The following table lists all of the Ghouls that could be found during the Halloween Event, along with their respective colors and the amount of Souls obtained upon busting them.

Mining[]

The Crystal Cavity.
A new location, widely known as the Crazed Caverns was introduced to Overlook Bay during the Halloween Event (2020). This location brought along the mining activity that players could perform to earn Souls during the Halloween Event (2020).
During the Halloween Event (2020), players could mine crystals at this location (Crazed Caverns), and then sell it off to Cathy Crystal, an NPC present inside the shop, The Crystal Cavity. Every time a player mined a crystal, they would gain a specific amount of Mining XP Points which were based on the type of crystal they mined. The more Mining XP Points that a player earned, the higher their mining level would be.
Mining, unlike Ghoul Busting, stayed in-game even after the Halloween Event (2020) had resided. Upon the event's removal from the game, players could no longer exchange crystals for Souls, and had to exchange their hard-earned crystals for
Gems instead.
The following table lists all of the obtainable crystals, along with their value in Souls, as well as their value in
Gems.

Trick-or-Treating[]
To earn Candy through this way, players had to go Trick-or-Treating to other players' houses and use the pails which they would have bought for
Souls, or the pail which was given by default to players for free, the Pumpkin Pal Pail. All players had to do was equip their desired pail, go up to another user's house, and ring the doorbell. Upon ringing the doorbell, the player would go into a minor cutscene in which an NPC (resembling the owner of the house) would greet them and grant them some
Candy.
Locations[]
Three new locations were added to the game during the Halloween Event, one of which was a building.
Witch's Lair[]

The Witch's Lair was located near the Pet Store. It housed the Potion Brew location, and could have been used by players to purchase halloween-exclusive vehicles in exchange for Souls or
Robux.
Ezra's Chamber[]

Ezra's Chamber.
Ezra's Chamber was a building where players could exchange their Souls for Halloween Pet Pods, pets, pet pods, pails, and cannons. On the ground floor of this building, players could find a halloween pet pod machine that used to dispense Halloween Pet Pods in exchange for
500.

The top floor of Ezra's Chamber.
On the top floor of Ezra's Chamber, the NPC, Ezra The Evil Witch was present with whom players could interact with to open a special shop from through they could buy pails and cannons.
Crazed Caverns[]

The Crazed Caverns location.
Crazed Caverns is a location in Overlook Bay which was added to the game along with the Halloween Event. Unlike other locations added during this event, this location was not removed from the game after the event had ended, and stayed along with mining, a gameplay element.
Potion Brew[]

The Potion Brew.
The Potion Brew was a special shop that was located inside Witch's Lair and was run by the NPC, Giselle The Good Witch. The Potion Brew relied on Soul donations. Players had the ability to donate
Souls to Giselle The Good Witch, which would in turn, help her defeat the evil witch, Ezra The Evil Witch. Giselle The Good Witch promised players special rewards upon reaching a certain number of global
Soul donations.
The table below lists all of the rewards, along with the number of Soul donations required to unlock them. Witch's Broom was one of the items acquired through donations, and was the first personal vehicle added to the game.

Event Pets[]
Pets introduced to the game during the Halloween Event could have either been obtained in exchange for Souls, out of Halloween Pet Pods, for
Robux, or for
Candy. Since the Potion Brew reached a total of
100,000,000 donations, the Halloween Pet Pod did not leave until 2 weeks after the initial event had ended, which made the pets obtainable out of the Halloween Pet Pod still available even after the event had ended for a limited period of time.

Event Collectibles[]
Collectibles added during this event could be either obtained from the Potion Brew, or could have been purchased from Ezra's Chamber.
Players could buy special pails and cannons from Ezra's Chamber in exchange for Souls. Pails and cannons gave certain boosts to players while they took part in the Ghoul Busting and Trick-or-Treating activities. By default, players were granted a free pail and a free cannon, the Pumpkin Pal Pail and Radioactive Cannon respectively, which gave no specific boost to the player's
Candy or
Souls income. These items stayed in a player's inventory even after the event ended under the "Collectibles" section.
