Fishing Rods are special tools in Overlook Bay that players can purchase using Emeralds. Before the Overlook RP Update, players could previously purchase rods using either
Gems or
Robux. Other ways for players to obtain special fishing rods are through the Fishing Pass upon reaching level 50 and level 100 in fishing, as well as from the Egg Hunt Pass through obtaining
Easter Eggs or
Artifacts from the Artifact Hunt Pass. Fishing Rods were introduced to Overlook Bay alongside the Fishing Update, and have become an important factor in the Gameplay part of Overlook Bay ever since. Fishing Rods that cost
Gems and
Robux could previously be purchased from the Barnacle's Bait building located on Marlin's Island (formerly Fishing Island). Some fishing rods were exclusive to certain events and could only be obtained during the event.
Currently, if a player wants to catch Molten Fish at the Molten Mines and the Mount Elysia, they will have to use the Hades Rod, which is the only fishing rod that can catch fish in lava.
Perks[]
The better the fishing rod, the more XP and Luck the player gets upon catching a fish.
Luck[]
A player's Luck determines the fish that they would be getting. The higher the player's Luck is, the better the chances of them getting a special or legendary fish. Several fishing rods award players with luck multipliers such as 2x Luck, 3x Luck, etc.
XP[]
XP is a main aspect of fishing and helps players level up and earn the rewards stated in the Fishing Pass. Better fishing rods offer perks such as x2 XP, x3 XP, or further.

How to Use[]
In order to catch a fish, players are required to equip their fishing rod from their inventory and head over to a water body, either the river, the shore, the canal leading to the river and the lake around the Wishing Well. Players can currently only use the Hades Rod to mine in lava at the Molten Mines and the Mount Elysia to obtain Molten Fish. The Hades Rod can also be used to fish in normal water.
Players have to stand on the coastline or the river bank with their fishing rod equipped and have to simply tap (for mobile devices), or use the Left Mouse Button (for PC) and click on the water to start fishing. After a while, the player would be prompted with a small bar with a circle moving constantly from the left to the right side. Players have to try and stop the circle in the green zone, or preferably, inside the circular outline in the middle of the bar. If players successfully land their circle inside the green zone, they would be granted a fish, but if they miss it, their character would retract their fishing rod and play a frustrated animation.
