Detectors were special tools in Overlook Bay that players could purchase using various currencies such as Gems, Robux, and Doubloons.

Always obtainable detectors that costed Gems, Doubloons or Robux could be bought from Patchy, Pirate Pete or the Pete's Treasure Trove , who could be found in the Pete's Treasure Shack a building present in Arcadia Isle.

As of the Overlook RP Update, detectors are now deprecated; while they remain in the inventory if a player owned any prior to the update, they currently have no use.

Perks[]

Detectors could grant players the perk to dig up hidden treasure.

Treasure Hunting[]

In order to obtain treasure, players need to use a detector while in Arcadia Isle. Players have to equip their detector. Upon equipping the detector, a UI would pop up at the bottom of the player's screen, which would signify how far away the player is from the nearest treasure. Players have to walk around Arcadia Isle and wait until their detector picks up a treasure item near them. There are five different values that this UI can have:

  • Too far: The player is too far away from the treasure.
  • Colder: Assigned when the detector picks up the frequency of a treasure. Still far away from the exact location.
  • Warmer: Assigned when the player is close to the treasure.
  • HOT: Assigned to the UI when the player is right on top of the treasure. They can then click on the UI (which turns into a button) to dig up the unearthed or buried treasure.
  • No more treasures for today: Assigned when the player has unearthed the maximum number of treasure items for the day, which is 10 items.
