The Crazed Caverns is a location that was added to Overlook Bay during the Halloween Event (2020), and has served as an important aspect of the Gameplay part of Overlook Bay ever since. It used to be located which could have been accessed through the Witch's Lair, but was moved to be under a bridge after the event was over. The Crazed Caverns serves as a platform through which players can mine crystals and sell them for Emeralds. More experienced players that are level 50 in mining can also access the Molten Mines, which is a sub-part of the Crazed Caverns.
The Crazed Caverns location is divided into two main locations, notedly the Surface Area and Molten Mines. The Surface Area was initially the only location that players could access in the Crazed Caverns, but on May 14, 2021, the Molten Mines were added to the game, which could only be accessed by players that were at least level 50 in mining. Players could access this new location through the elevator shaft present parallel to The Crystal Cavity.
Players could also spend 995 to instantly advance to level 50 in mining and access the Molten Mines. However, if players buy this product to instantly reach level 50, they miss out on all the rewards ranging from level 1 to level 50 in the mining pass. Players can buy this developer product by approaching the elevator shaft whilst under level 50 in mining. Upon trying to enter the elevator shaft, players under level 50 would get prompted to buy this.
Surface Area[]
There are two buildings present in the Surface Area of the Crazed Caverns. The Crystal Cavity is the building where players can purchase new pickaxes and trade their crystals in exchange for Gems. Just parallel to The Crystal Cavity, stands a building denoting all the rewards from the mining pass up to level 50. The NPC, Cathy Crystal could be found inside The Crystal Cavity.
Players can use both Pickaxes as well as Drills to break Crystals in the Surface Area, where drills take a significantly lesser time to break a crystal in the Surface Area than pickaxes.
Selling Crystals[]
Overlook Bay players could initially trade their crystals in exchange for Souls. However, since mining stayed in-game even after the Halloween Event (2020) had resided, players obtained the ability to exchange their crystals for
Gems.
The following table lists all of the obtainable crystals along with their respective values in both Gems and
Souls.

Buying Pickaxes[]

Players can also buy pickaxes from The Crystal Cavity. All of these pickaxes grant certain perks (Luck and/or XP) and also take certain hits to break a crystal. Pickaxes cannot be used to mine in the Molten Mines. When a player tries to use their pickaxe to break a crystal in the Molten Mines, they are prompted with a message towards the bottom of their screen suggesting the fact that pickaxes cannot be used to mine in the Molten Mines.

Molten Mines[]

The Molten Mines have two things in common with the surface area. One being that it also resides under the Crazed Caverns, and the other being that the NPC, Cathy Crystal, has set up The Crystal Cavity, a shop from the Surface Area there as well. Players can sell exclusive crystals which they can only obtain through the Molten Mines at this shop, and can also buy exclusive drills, including the Robux-exclusive Hyper Drill that players can purchase for 1,295.
Players can only access the Molten Mines if they are level 50 or above in mining. Players can also buy a developer product which allows them to instantly get to level 50 for 995. Players can buy this developer product by approaching the elevator shaft whilst under level 50 in mining. Upon trying to enter the elevator shaft, players under level 50 would get prompted to buy this. However, if players buy this product to instantly reach level 50, they miss out on all the rewards ranging from level 1 to level 50 in the mining pass.

Buying Drills[]
Players can also buy drills from The Crystal Cavity in the Molten Mines area. All of these drills grant certain perks (Luck and/or XP) and also take certain seconds to break a crystal in the Molten Mines. The STB for a drill only accounts for the time it takes to break a crystal in the Molten Mines. In the Surface Area, it breaks the crystals rather quickly than its given STB.

Fishing[]
Players have the ability to catch Molten Fish using special Molten Rods (currently, only the Hades Rod) in the Molten Mines. Molten Fish can be found and caught near any certain lava surrounding the Molten Mines. Unlike other fish, these can be caught both during the day and during night-time. Special fish, however, require players to use Bait to capture them.
The following table lists all of the fish that can be caught in the Molten Mines, their exchange value in Gems, and also their rarity.
Mega Rock[]

A boss fight event occurs in the Molten Mines where players mine a large crystal fifteen minutes after a server begins and a long time interval afterwards to respawn. Whenever this boss fight occurs, the server sends a notification in the server's chat which can be read by all players, and players are also prompted by a dialogue box on their screen which allows them to teleport directly to the Mega Rock if they are in the Molten Mines. The Mega Rock event is completely disabled in private servers.
The Mega Rock has 10,000 HP, and players have to use their drills in order to defeat it. Upon defeating the boss, players are awarded 2000 Mining XP and between 1 and 7 Ember Shards if they participated at all in mining the Mega Rock. The number of Ember Shards awarded appears to be random every time.
The Mega Rock has a random name every time. The currently discovered names of each boss include:
- Big Rockus
- Dwayne the Rock (a reference to Dwayne Johnson)
- Havel the Rock
- Mega Rock
- RagnaROCK
- Rock
- Rockanator
- Rocky Balboulder
- Rocky Mountain
- That's not a boulder, it's a rock!
- Pet Rock
Mining Pass[]

Players can level up by mining crystals in Overlook Bay, whether it be on the Surface Area or through the Molten Mines. While leveling up to levels in the denomination of 5, players can earn certain prizes, which range from Gems, Pet Pods, Wishes, up to special pickaxes and drills. Level 100 is the currently maximum mining level cap, while level 50 used to be the level cap before the Molten Mines update.
Players could only see item boards ranging from level 1 to 50 exclusively at The Crystal Cavity present in the Surface Area of the Crazed Caverns, and items ranging from level 51 to 100 were exclusive to a secondary The Crystal Cavity present in the Molten Mines.
